More about me

Aspirational Goals

I've had many goals in my life, and have pivoted from some of these goals to discover what is more fulfilling to me as I grow and change throughout my career and my life.

One aspirational goal I achieved was to travel the world. At first, my goal was simply to travel more, but over time it evolved to wanting to travel to as many places as I could. I then set a goal of going to 100 countries and 7 continents.

As I reached each milestone, I felt more inspired and challenged until I finally decided I wanted to go to every country in the world. With more years of dedication, planning, and intention, I completed my goal of going to all 197 countries in December of 2021.

This is something I am very proud of as travel has become a core, but not the only, part of my identity. It has challenged me in so many amazing and surprising ways.

How did I find coaching?

I used to work in the public sector and tech industries where I held a variety of different roles from support, training and development, supervisor, technical manager, client relationship manager, and project manager roles.

When I was getting ready to become a manager, I felt I needed to prepare by learning how to be a manager. To do that, I found a coaching program and the ideas of supporting others in a collaborative way, tailoring what people need to address challenges and be successful, and seeing what accountabilty looks like, really resonated with me.

For many years I had a very supportive manager who developed and encouraged me. I thought this was the norm, but as I worked with, and for, others, I began to realize she was a rarity. She unknowingly used the coach approach with me, and finding a supportive framework has allowed me to support others in a similar way.
